A rare find in the forests of Maryland, Sweet Knot is not known to be edible, but historical reports mention it was utilized for it's sweet and potent scent as an aromatic in households. Despite conflicting reports, I found it to be quite sweet upon harvest, but very quickly that scent diminishes. However, after keeping the fruiting body in a jar with a micropore filter, it took on an intense smell of aged whiskey. It also boasts a texture unlike anything I've seen from a mushroom.
